Brendan Frye

Bleh. I'm not really happy with this.
I wanted to do a fanart of Brendan Frye, the hero of Brick. A truly awesome movie. Go see it!
I had this linework that I thought looked really tight, and I wanted to do a, pretty much, black & white image with really hard shadows. Like something out of a Tracer Bullet comic. Turns out: I'm not even half as good as Bill Waterson. It didn't look "right", so I was left with linework I didn't know what to do with.
In the end, I slapped on a halfway decent background but, seeing as this was conceived as a character sketch, rather than a "scene" I'm not sure it fits.

Any suggestions as to how I could "fix" it are more than welcome. Come on, people, I can take it. After all, I don't like it anyways .

I had to use heavy reference for this. Both for Brendan's stance, and the background. Also, textures from Mayang.
